I was live-blogging the event for Eurovision Ireland (www.eurovisionireland.net) and despite having heard the hype around Spirit in the Sky, I’d deliberately avoided listening to any of the songs in the selection so that my reactions to MGP were genuine first impressions.

They made an absolutely amazing performance, Alexandra nailed her high note with perfection, and the entire staging and setup and their fantastic new white and silver outfits were so perfect.
