KEiiNO, who came second in the Melodi Grand Prix this year, is also in Rotterdam. They are out meeting the fans – something TIX is not allowed to do.

Dutch people love KEiiNO and the Dutch audience gave them 12 out of 12 possible points when they participated in 2019. Therefore, the trio was invited to the Netherlands to perform on TV channels and have concerts in the city this week.

In the Good evening Norway video at the top of the case (Click here to view the video in the original article), you can see that they also chose to have street concerts for the international Eurovision fans.

– We just want to spread a little joy! We are just ordinary people who love music, says vocalist Alexandra Rotan, before Tom Hugo continues:

– It’s fun to be able to feel playing abroad again, he says and reveals that they tend to have pop-up concerts in the countries they visit.

Difficult situation

More than 20 fans were delighted when they recognized the Norwegian band that had a street concert.

As the crowd approached 30, they had to change location. It is not allowed to gather more than 30 people outdoors in the Netherlands, and the Norwegian band wanted to respect the infection control rules.

Therefore, they had not announced that they would have a street concert. Some still managed to understand what was happening, and came running to a place where KEiiNO had shared a picture on social media.

These pop-up concerts take place in a year where TIX must limit the number of interviews and the number of performances due to the contagion situation in the country.

Big fanbase

It was not just Dutch people who fell in love with the band, KEiiNO won Europe’s audience votes in 2019 – and it was no accident.

The band has arranged an insane number of so-called “meet and greets”, and takes the time to talk to the fans. Ever since the Melodi Grand Prix final two years ago, they have toured European countries – in addition to the Eurovision nation Australia.

– I love that they mix yoik and pop songs! And that they love the Eurovision Song Contest so much, says Anthony Dernicourt to Good evening Norway. He is one of those present at the street concert.
