Alexandra Rotan has the kind of smile that automatically lifts the mood in the room. It is not an artificial smile for the camera, but a spontaneous expression of joie de vivre, which makes the curls dance cheerfully over the shoulders. Yes, as the very definition of “jolly”, for lack of a better word.
And it is with this smile that she energetically greets us at the door of her new home in Oslo. The place she and her boyfriend, Markus Maaren Bastøe, moved into during Advent last year – where she is looking forward to creating new Christmas traditions this year.

EIDSVOLL: She has been a smash hit with the band KEIINO and established herself as one of the country’s most popular artists. Alexandra Rotan herself has no doubt that the ability to dream big has been important to her now living solely on music. Therefore, the chairman of the jury for the Dream Scholarship 2023 hopes that young artists and cultural practitioners will make the trip to the application portal by Tuesday 15 November at 12.00 and give themselves the chance to become one of 50 scholarship winners in 2023.

Battle of the Stars finalist Alexandra Rotan: Does not receive KEiiNO salary abroad

The recent silver winner reveals that the band project is running a deficit internationally. Next autumn, she will start a solo career.

This weekend, Alexandra Rotan congratulated her “Battle of the Stars” rival Bjørn Tomren on the victory – apparently just as jubilantly happy, after ten weeks of exposure in prime time on NRK.

Exposure is also a key word for the band she is known as a third of, the Melodi Grand Prix institution KEiiNO.

In a recent application to the Norwegian Cultural Council for the Statens kunstnerstipend, Rotan says that the band does not make money outside the home country’s borders.

“Battle of the Stars” -Alexandra: Operated after changes of cervical cells

Alexandra Rotan had surgery to remove a small part of her cervix out of fear of developing cancer when she was diagnosed with a serious change of cells.

In 2019, the KEiiNO singer and “Battle of the Stars” participant found the courage to see a gynecologist for the first time. The cell samples showed moderate to small cell changes, while the following year showed small to no changes.
Early in the spring of this year came the shock – the sample suddenly showed large cell changes.
